Myles Antony

Myles Antony
Myles Antony was the leading display artist for the John Stephen Organisation at the birth of the Carnaby Street phenomenon back in the 1960's. After a career in fashion he reverted to his original love of watercolour painting. In 1984 he was invited to exhibit his work at the Edinburgh International Festival where the openly homoerotic theme caused a sensation. But it was a very successful beginning to a long career in painting. After many exhibitions of his work a the Adonis Art Gallery in London, he has retired to his homeland of Ireland, but he leaves a legacy of many hundreds of striking portraits and compositions featuring handsome young men. Antony always paints in watercolour on heavy card. His exceptional ability is to capture the beauty of faces, which he achieves with consumate ease in watercolour - a very difficult medium to work in.
